A Tourist in Land of Mer

...Merlions, that is. Lion head, fish body???? ...I dont know...dont as me! XD

Two years ago, I studied in Singapore for 2 months as part of a student exchange program, and it still remains one of the best experiences of my life. Eventhough as a child when I lived in Malaysia, I always frequented Singapore since it was only 4hrs away, I still never experienced Singapore like I did when I lived there as a student. Six short weeks and I absorbed the whole of Singaporean culture: the competetive parents, the competetive students (oh, it felt so good to flash my *temporary* NUS student card!!), the cubbing scene, wednesday awesome ladies night, the secrets of Geylang (Indian men and Chinese prostitutes!), the Bangladesh construction workers and Philipino maid sunday hookups...hehe

These 3 days, I didnt really get up to much in Singapore...as you can see in the last post, I ate the best chili crabs...and thats about the highlight of my trip!!

But I did spend one whole day in Sentosa...

Known for its beaches....

...but nothing compared to the beaches in Sydney XD

The beach was spoilt by the damn industrial ships scattered a few hundred meters away from the beach...a complete and utter eyesore~!

Watched the spectacular night show Songs of The Sea, otherwise known as the magic singing fountain.

*Posing with the famous Oscar*

The story is about some young boy with an awesome voice wanting to save some poor girl from the depths of the ocean and away from the wrath of some sea creature villain. I know. LAME! But it really is a spectacular event to see because the show effects was awesome! The effects were really dramatic, all created by some water jets and computer imaging thingys, lots and lots of lighting and flames. hmmmm doesnt make sense...but I'll let the photos do the explaining...

So prettyyy right?? =)

Also stopped over at Cafe del Mar to sit, relax and enjoy a glass of white wine...
Really was very serene....just breathing in the salty sea air...looking at coconut trees (wtf?) ..and spying on some hot tatooed foreigners ~XD

Despite the polluted beach, I really enjoyed myself at Sentosa~! Was mingling and rubbing shoulders with all the foreigners....as a tourist!
